Clay and Layla make peace and Spelivia may be back on as Olivia admits she wants Spencer back. Here’s our All American season 5 episode 10 recap.
Spencer looking for honesty
This episode opens with an angry Spencer just wanting some honesty from the people around him. He tells Jordan he hates secrets and being scared or surprised. He questions if there is any other reason he’s staying at GAU and then calls him on knowing Billy’s the new coach and not telling him. He later questions Liv who assures him she didn’t know, as well as his mom who shares she had her suspicions. Spencer confronts Billy asking when he started only looking out for himself.
Spencer is so stressed, and Alicia offers to help him out but he doesn’t want to talk about it with her or take anything she had to offer for that matter.
Operation get your man back
Olivia admits to Layla that she still loves Spencer and that she should get back together with him. She admits that the reason they broke up was stupid. Layla later proves to be an ally for this mission.
Dollars for Dudes
Jaymee is back and feeling better but has major hospital bills. The gang gets together and decides to throw an auction offering the men of GAU and Coastal California to raise money for her cause. Layla lowkey offers it as a way for Olivia to get what she wants.
At the auction, Olivia outbids Alicia for a date with Spencer and has an awkward encounter with her. The two go out to a rage room so Spencer can get out of his head. Olivia reminds Spencer of how her dad can be and that he ultimately cares about family. He ends their time by bringing up their ’friendship’ and Olivia’s face makes it clear that she wants more.
JJ is also back showing up just in time to bid on Asher. He offers a handsome sum citing support of the cause and not for him. He and Asher put on sumo suits and having it out. In the end they realize they miss each other and want what’s best for each other.
When Spencer returns from his date with Liv, Alicia realized how relaxed he is and that she wasn’t the one to make him feel that way. She reminds Spencer she’s his girlfriend and wants to be let into everything going on in his life.
As the Vortex hangs out together for the first time in a while, JJ is caught drinking a little too much by Olivia who recognizes his downward spiral. She’s clearly concerned about him.

Keating Records Battle
Layla is interviewed about her starting Monica Records and reminds readers she’s a Keating. This hits a nerve with Clay and he confronts her. They begin to argue and Jordan wants to insert himself in the situation by offering to beat up Clay on her behalf. Layla wants no parts of it and wants to handle it herself. In the end, Clay and Layla hash it out and decide that they can support each other in the industry. Clay gives Layla back the use of the Keating name. Jordan stands up to Clay after some friendly advice from his “date” Denise.
Preach’s dilemma
Coop helps Preach get ready for his day in court. She suggests that Billy can help Preach get a full-time job. Billy agrees to try while Preach comes up with his own illegal way to make some quick money by visiting some old friends from the hood. He later decides against it and gets offered a job as a teacher at South Crenshaw high (Preach has had some amazing growth over the years).
Spelivia together again?
The episode ends with Spencer visiting Billy and is met by Olivia. She takes the opportunity to share her honest feelings saying she wants him back leaving Spencer stunned. Before he can even get his bearings, he has an honest conversation with Billy reminding him he’s a father and not just a coach to the kids at Crenshaw giving Billy something to think about.
