It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for as Spelivia finally walk down the aisle. Here’s our All American Season 6 Episode 15 recap.

It’s an emotional night on the season finale of All American as our beloved Spencer and Olivia finally exchange vows, bringing the six seasons to a climax.

I’ll save my thoughts for the end, so without further adieu, here’s our All American Season 6 Episode 14 recap.

The Drama Continues

Tonight’s episode picks up from last week’s episode where Spencer is on the phone with the wedding planner learning that his wedding venue is flooded due to the sewer backing up. It will take three days to clean up and coincidentally, Spencer will have to be back at training camp in three days. Liv has lost hope that they will get married and feels like these setbacks have been happening to them since the beginning.

The morning of their supposed wedding, the Vortex shows up to help Spelivia have the wedding they deserve, but they find Olivia angrily chopping fruit trying to convince herself that she’s okay. Again, Spencer reassures her they will work something out.

Liv begins to spiral and has flashbacks of her first moments with Spencer, recalling the many obstacles they’ve faced together. Grandma Wendy reminds her about their resilience and Mama Laura encourages her to fight for her wedding.

Coop gets good news

Coop gets some good news that she’s been accepted to GAU’s law school program and begins to get excited, but later she gets another acceptance from Yale that causes her to be unsure of herself. She puts her thoughts aside to focus on helping Spencer plan the wedding.

Groomzilla rallies the troops

At the beach house, we see groomzilla Spencer ordering the kids from Crenshaw to get his place settings right. Just then Kia, Davita and Kai come over to the beach house to lend a hand. Spencer is so engrossed in creating the perfect wedding that he has forgotten to respond to his bride. When he finally gets to her, she has decided to go to the Justice of the Peace to get married. Spencer tells her they need to make a stop and we all get the first surprise of the night—a wedding in the James family backyard.

Surprises as Spelivia Gets Married

Family and close friends are present for an intimate wedding where Spencer and Liv’s vows are perfectly beautiful and personala perfect reflection of their love over the years. The couple and the audience get the second surprise of the nightthe community has come together to give the happy couple the reception of their dreams. The third and final surprise is a first dance that blows everyone away. Dance has been such an integral part to Spelivia’s story and so this dance was a beautiful culmination of it all. They even recreated dance from Liv’s cotillion in season two.

Memorable Moments

There were so many other moments that need to be mentionedCoop has a moment on the swings with Spencer where she talks about where she’s come from and how she doesn’t feel she deserves Yale. But in true form, her bestie encourages her to take the leap.

Spencer takes a moment to thank the new father figures in his life.

Mama Laura gives the deed to the house to Jordan so he and Layla can finally have a home where they can start their family.

Lastly, we learn that Billy had an older brother that GW is not so thrilled about. Perhaps this is the set up for the next season, but only time will tell.

Author’s Note

Overall, tonight’s episode was simply beautiful and a perfect end for Spencer’s story. Man, by the end of the episode I was at a loss for words because this really is the end of an era and I’m so happy that we got to see Spencer’s story all wrapped up. Many shows don’t get to do this and I hate that because the audience is left without closure.

I have loved this show from the first day of watching it in Season 3. I was late to the party and being in Canada, we didn’t have Season 1 and 2 available to us so I bought the two seasons and watched non-stop. I literally fell in love with the characters and stood in awe of the actors, especially Daniel Ezra and Samantha Logan. The story being told was relatable and being Black, especially seeing a dark skinned male, was so satisfying especially at a time where Black people were being pushed in the forefront on our TV screens.

Watching these characters and becoming a true fan has been a happy place for me. I had never been a part of a fandom like this before, but I’m glad to belong to the Spelivia camp. They really bring me so much joy. I never thought I would become that person who’s watching scenes, tweeting with other fans during the show and reading every fanfic I could find. I realize though that within me I was craving a Black love story to follow. The last couple I cared about was maybe Dwayne and Whitley from A Different World. Even though I had watched others, like Steve and Laura or Issa and Lawrence, neither of those got to me the way Spencer and Olivia have. While I know this show had touched many, for younger Black fans and some of us older ones, we now have another Black couple we can look at as an example of true love. Spencer and Olivia have made TV history for sure.

Lastly, I have to give all the flowers to Mr. Daniel Ezra who went from fairly unknown to being a complete star in this role. We have definitely watched him grow on screen and I look forward to seeing where he goes from here. While we don’t know what Season 7 will look like yet, and who will be returning, I’m glad I got to experience this show for the last six seasons. To the showrunners and writers, thanks for keeping these characters going and to all the cast, well done.

All American has been renewed for Season 7. Stay tuned.
