Shots are fired and the girls have another intervention with Danni. Here’s our review of Tyler Perry’s Sistas Season 6 Episode 1.
Tonight marked the long-awaited return of Tyler Perry’s Sistas and the show was sorely missed.
As with last season’s premiere, we are introduced to a few new looks, including Fatima new blonde hair and natural makeup, which is always a nice touch, giving us a visible cue of her personal growth.
The season five finale didn’t answer any questions, instead raising new ones, and the season six premiere was no different. This season we can expect the evolution of the character of Aaron, as well as questions surrounding Maurice’s future.
Shots fired
Gunshots are blazing as we learn who got shot in the struggle between Que and Maurice. Calvin shows up to stop Maurice and ends up finding himself in the middle of a crime scene. Things get even more series when the police show up asking questions.
Zac and Fatima in bed with her new blonde hair (wig). Zac is still wondering how she’s okay with his baby mama drama. When she makes fun of his sketchy past with women, he in turn wonders about her body count.
Danni’s intervention (continued)
Meanwhile, after leaving her girls at her place in the season five finale, we find Danni at the bar drinking and coping when Preston walks in. He asks if Danni wants to meet his date and she isn’t happy to see him to say the least. According to Tina the bartender, “She’s on that bullshit”. Tina calls Andi to come get her who in turn calls Sabrina and Karen for another impromptu intervention.
The sistas arrive letting her know they waited for her at her house. They try to apologize and be open with their own issues to not come across as judgmental.
We finally get to meet Preston’s other love interest as Danni goes over to meet her. Danni gets messy, telling her the ring she’s wearing was offered to her first. Sabrina and Andi eventually come over to get her and take her home.
Mindy making an appearance in the episode was unexpected, but she contrasts perfectly with the character of Danni adding to her pain.
Karen and Aaron talk
On her way home, Aaron calls Karen from her place looking clear up his argument with the mystery woman in season five. Karen calls Pam to make sure she locked up the salon. She may or may not have left the curling irons on. Again.
As Karen arrives at home, Aaron wants to explain so they can continue being in a good place. Aaron explains that he started seeing that woman since Karen wasn’t sure about her and Aaron’s relationship and that she fell in love with him.
