TYLER PERRY’S SISTAS SEASON 6 EPISODE 12 (MID-SEASON PREMIERE) RECAP

Things escalate between Fatima and Karen, and Maurice confesses. Here’s our recap of Tyler Perry’s Sistas Season 6 Episode 12.

It’s Christmas in October as Tyler Perry’s Sistas returns for its mid-season premiere.

The episode opens with Fatima (Crystal Renee Hayslett) on the ground after being shot by Karen (Ebony Obsidian) with everyone in the office scrambling. Fortunately, as many fans suspected, it was just wishful thinking on Karen’s part.

After the two exchange backhanded apologies, Karen threatens to get every dime she can from Zac (Devale Ellis) for her baby. When the dust settles, Karen wants Andi to choose between her and Fatima, but it looks like Andi isn’t prepared to do that.

Pam (Angela Beyincé) and Aaron (Kevin A. Walton) show up at the office after following Karen to make sure she’s okay. Aaron confides to Andi (KJ Smith) that he knows who the father is. No appearance on Maury Povich required.

Fatima goes home and Zac is thankful for how understanding she’s been through everything with Karen. That is, indeed, facts. Zatima continue to be a breath of fresh air on the show in the midst of all the chaos. Fatima has been practicing a superhuman levels of grace and self-control in dealing with the Karen and Zac situation, and even suggests that she and Zac go visit his son with Heather (India Tyree). The woman is an angel (with a dark side).

In the latest Maurice (Brian Jordan Jr.) and Sabrina (Novi Brown) legal drama, Calvin (Anthony Dalton) continues to be a solid support despite Sabrina continuing to rely on Bayo (Ellis E. Fowler), the African Prince. It seems everyone can see his true colors except for her. Later, Bayo comes over, revealing more of his homophobic ways. It turns out she may be seeing the light after all, but soon Bayo reveals his true colors and what he’s expecting in return for giving her the money to bail out Maurice.

Maurice confesses to working with Que (Mackenro Alexander) in robbing the bank, but the District Attorney doesn’t believe Maurice and Sabrina had anything to do with it, but not everyone is convinced.

Meanwhile, Hayden (Chris Warren) is missing his estranged wife Tamara (Joi Simone), but Gary (Chido Nwokocha) is trying to burst his bubble. Although it seemed like forever, in the story, they were only together for two weeks and the guy is distraught. But Gary has troubles of his own in the love department. While in the office Gary talks to Andi about her being on dating apps, warning her to be safe. He’s starting to give off creepy vibes once again.

Lastly, just when things are finally going smoothly for Danni (Mignon Von) and Preston (Trinity Whiteside), she might have a new handsome, and slightly creepy, suitor at work. Yup, Danni and Preston’s reunion seemed to good to be true.

Overall, it was a fairly low drama episode in Sistas terms. As a mid-season premiere, it did a good job of reintroducing all the storylines and without being too over-the-top. It looks like we’re finally going to get some answers when it comes to the paternity of Karen’s baby, but in the meantime, it looks like she’s headed for an all-time high in pettiness and strange behavior.

Tyler Perry’s Sistas airs Wednesdays at 9pm EST on BET.
