TYLER PERRY’S SISTAS SEASON 8 EPISODE 8 RECAP

Credit: BET

Andi and Penelope get into it at the hospital and Danni goes to therapy. Again. Here’s our Tyler Perry’s Sistas Season 8 Episode 8 recap.

Drama at the hospital

Gary is conscious and improving. The cockroach lives and is expected to make a full recovery. Penelope pulls up and talks to Hudson about Gary’s condition. She seems super bitter and conniving. She actually has the backbone that we wished Andi had. Speaking of Andi, she comes to the hospital where she and Hudson have another run-in. He’s upset she didn’t come as soon as she talked to Gary on the phone. She threatens to have him removed as her man’s power of attorney when he wakes up. Penelope happens to walk in after forgetting her purse in time to hear her refer to Gary as her man. Andi tries to explain, but Penelope doesn’t want to hear it. She finally allows Andi to explain what’s going on. Penelope doesn’t believe her and warns her to stay away from her brother.

Now awake, Gary has something to tell Andi, but before he can, Penelope comes in. But it looks like Gary doesn’t remember who she is. She slaps him to remind him, but he’s still confused. Andi wants to know if his memory loss is permanent, but Hudson, the power-of-attorney, interjects before the doctor could answer her.

In the parking lot, Jordan jumps into Penelope’s car and asks her what she’s doing at the hospital, and alludes to her being the one who stabbed Gary.

Danni’s therapy appointment

Danni makes an emergency call to her therapist and is afraid of losing her man and her mind. She vents about Tony putting her into the leadership program. When asked how she dealt with it, Danni dances around the subject. She finally admits she “cussed his ass out.” Her therapist points out that Danni uses sex, smoking, and drinking to cope, and that she may want to choose abstinence in the future whenever she’s ready.

Back at the airport, things are going well between Tony and Danni. She reveals that she’s going to do the leadership training. She sees it as a good option to better herself and take her mind off her vices.

Karen and Sabrina meet up

While Rich and Sabrina are smooching at the juice bar, Karen pulls up to go over her business documents with Sabrina. They’re working on a plan to get Roots To Riches on shelves everywhere. After their meeting, Sabrina wants the latest on Karen’s love life, or lack thereof. She asks him about Trey, but he’s taken. Sabrina thinks she deserves love and asks her about getting back with her ex; not Zac, but Aaron. Later, at the bank, Karen and Pam are talking business when Aaron walks in and his fit is on point. Aaron is a new man; a less lame version of his previous self.

At the bank, Maurice and Paige are still giving each other the cold shoulder. Paige has a problem with her boss, Sabrina, coming to work late (one minute late). She says Sabrina is only her boss because of affirmative action, and diversity and inclusion measures. Sabrina puts her in her place while keeping it classy. She lets Paige know that she has her job because she’s more qualified than her.

Zatima in Robin’s crosshairs?

Meanwhile, Fatima tells Zac that Robin showed her footage of her and Gary’s body guard and that he knows they have the motive to try and kill Gary. Zac is getting emotional at the thought of going back to jail. Zac encourages Fatima to use the killer she has on speed dial, aka her cousin Madam, to take care of Robin and Hayden. Fatima is trying to off Robin, but she still thinks Hayden is hiding something. The plan is for Zac to follow his every move.

Andi then calls Fatima over to her apartment to get the lowdown on the latest at the law firm. Andi is shocked that Robin gave Hayden her course load. Andi wonders how the Fatima she knows would let someone do that to her. Fatima lets her know he has evidence against her. Andi, in turn, gives her the news of Gary waking up and  Penelope slapping her. Fatima decides to teach her how to fight.

Overall, it’s a good episode that adds some drama with Gary’s memory loss. My prediction is that for the foreseeable future we’re going to deal with a seemingly brand new Gary and Andi falling back in love with him. Eventually he’ll get his memory back, but he won’t tell anyone that he remembers. He’ll also remember who stabbed him. We’ll see if I’m right.
