The world’s biggest and most prestigious one-on-one breaking competition, the Red Bull BC One World Final, is heading to Toronto, Canada for its 23rd edition on November 29th, 2026. At this year’s edition in Tokyo, during an unforgettable night of head-to-head battles inside Tokyo’s historic Ryoguku Kokugikan Sumo Arena, Grammy-nominated Redman and Toronto’s very own award-winning, DMC Hall of Fame DJ and Producer Skratch Bastid took to the Red Bull BC One World Final stage to announce to the sold-out crowd of more than 7,700 fans, that Toronto will be the next location of this respected competition, and cut to an exhilarating trailer shown live, showcasing the exciting news. The trailer features Canadian Olympic gold medalist Phil Wizard, and Skratch Bastid on the decks, and is all set to fellow Canadian and Grammy Award-winning Kaytranada’s hit “Lite Spots” from his Polaris Prize-winning beloved album, 99.9%. The announcement was a true celebration of all things Canadian, all across a global stage in front of thousands, and kicks off an exciting year leading to the Red Bull BC One World Final in downtown Toronto, November 2026. The stage is now set for another history-making event.

Most recently held in Tokyo (2025), Rio De Janeiro (2024), Paris (2023), New York (2022), and Gdańsk (2021), this will mark the first time the Red Bull BC One World Final will be held in Toronto. Mattamy Athletic Centre, formerly known as the iconic Maple Leaf Gardens, will be transformed from a hockey arena into the largest international breaking stage, where the world’s best B-Boys and B-Girls will pit their elite breaking skills against each other to strive for the coveted Red Bull BC One World Championship title.

Born in the Bronx, breaking continues to thrive and live on in cities around the world, including Toronto where it remains a defining force in connecting communities, spaces, and people of multiple backgrounds, across multiple generations. Toronto is home to numerous legendary breaking crews, whose members are also leaders across culture, music, fashion, arts, and sports. Artists in various sectors are dedicated to keeping the roots of hip-hop healthy and alive, with breaking being one of the pillars.
