Toronto producer Boi-1da has his own shoe thanks to Nike and Kevin Durant. Here’s a closer look at the Boi-1da x Nike KD 15 86 BPM and how you can get a pair.

After the initial announcement back in August, this week Toronto music producer Boi-1da got his own sneaker courtesy of Nike and Kevin Durant. The drop is the latest in a long list of accolades the Toronto producer Boi-1da has accumulated in his career so far, from Grammys to platinum plaques. Not only did he get to put his name on the shoe, but he was hands-on with the design.

He took to Instagram to share his excitement about the drop.

“Got blessed with the opportunity to design my own shoe. Shoutout to my brother @easymoneysniper and @nikebasketball for giving me the opportunity to design my very own KD15.”

The collaboration came out of his long time relationship with the sharpshooting NBA All-Star.

“My relationship with Kevin Durant been a dope one. We met years ago, I can’t remember when, but we’re both fans of music, fans of basketball, and we just connected on that front”, he explains in a recently released video.

The design features some personal touches, including drawing inspiration from FL Studio, the production program he started out on, for the colorway and 86 BPM, his favourite rap tempo, across the back of the shoe. He also has his signature across the tongue of one shoe with KD’s branding on the other.

“The shoe just looks sports and sleek. You can play basketball in it and you can just wear it with something nice, too. It’s dualities to it, you know?”

The shoe is a part of a “Producer Pack” which will also feature Cardo and 9th Wonder.
