IMAN SHUMPERT LAUNCHES NEW RECORD LABEL, TALKS NBA FIST FIGHTS ON VLADTV

iman shumpert launches record label

NBA star turned hip-hop artist Iman Shumpert launches his record label A Sinner’s Peace Records and talks about fist fights with J.R. Smith on Vlad TV.

Iman Shumpert has had a very busy year so far. Late last year, he walked away with the Mirror Ball Trophy after winning Dancing With The Stars. In June, he premiered his new podcast Iman Amongst Men alongside his brother Ahrii. A partnership with Lebron James’ UNINTERRUPTED, the podcast tackles everything from money and the entertainment industry and mental wellness to parenting and relationships. Then in August, he dropped his debut studio album This Car Ain’t Stolen with significant contribution from Canadian producer HeySamyr.

This week, the momentum continued as the Chicago-native took to social media to announce the official launch of his new record label A Sinner’s Peace Records with the mission of “Independently Changing the Narrative of Hip-Hop”. Captioned “Chaining day”, the video shows Shumpert, who spent six figures on chains, presenting them to the crew. Though the label was first established in 2020, it appears to now be gaining steam with the release of Shumpert’s project and the previously announced signing of HeySamyr.

He then headed over to VladTV where he weighed in on everything from fist fights with J.R. Smith, the L.A. Lakers playoff prospects, and Kanye West and cancel culture. In a comical moment, Shumpert appeared puzzled as Vlad said the only way to cancel someone is to either put them in jail or kill them while talking about Kanye West and the infamous White Lives Matter t-shirt. Shumpert looked around the room confused, mouthing the words, “What the fuck?…What’s going on, man?”

Although he hasn’t officially retired from basketball, Shumpert continues to have one of the more successful transitions to post-basketball life, avoiding the usual path towards sports broadcasting, opting instead to build and leverage his own brand into other interests and ventures.

Iman Amongst Men is available on all major streaming platforms.
