KESHIA CHANTÉ, JESSE JONES TO CO-HOST ET CANADA BLACK HISTORY MONTH SPECIAL

Keshia Chanté and Jesse Jones set to co-host ET Canada’s FORWARD – Celebrating the Future of Black Entertainment Black History Month special.

While Black History Month is all about looking back at the historical accomplishments of Black Canadians, ET Canada will be taking a look ahead with FORWARD – Celebrating the Future of Black Entertainment, a television special celebrating “the future of Black excellence in film, television, music, sports and fashion”.

Sponsored by TD Canada Trust and hosted by ET Canada’s Keshia Chanté and special guest co-host Jesse Jones, the half-hour special will share the stories of some of the “trailblazing individuals that are helping to open doors, and inspiring the next generation of Black excellence”.

With many in the Black community decrying the lack of mainstream recognition for Black creators here in Canada, despite producing world leading creative talent including Drake and The Weeknd, this special is a well-needed step in the right direction.

The program will feature on-on-one sit down interviews with leading Canadian Black entertainers, including Jully Black; TIFF CEO, Cameron Bailey; hip-hop producer and Drake collaborator Boi1da; hip-hop artist TObi; film and music video director Karena Evans; writer, producer and director, Clement Virgo; designer, Sasha Ruddock; singer, Lu Kala; TV personality, Stacey McKenzie; and filmmaker, Kelly Fyffe-Marshall.

Now in its 17th season, Entertainment Tonight Canada is a Canadian Screen Award-winning, nationally syndicated entertainment news program and Canada’s #1 entertainment news series.

FORWARD – Celebrating the Future of Black Entertainment airs Monday, February 21st at 7:30pm ET/7pm PT on Global, and will also be available on STACKTV and the Global TV App.
