Ottawa hip-hop producer, Deflare Beats, returns with South Side Freestyle featuring an impressive lineup of artists representing the south end of Ottawa.
After releasing his “West Side Freestyle”, Ottawa producer, Deflare Beats, is back with “South Side Freestyle”, the second installment in his three-part Welcome To My City series.
Once again, Deflare begins the track with a laid back beat as the artists, all from the south end of Ottawa, take turns blessing the track with buttery melodic vocals. Then comes a beat change as things pick up with heavy drums and energy.
Featuring on the track are some of Ottawa’s young, rising acts, including Lia Kloud, Rebel VFTERPVRTY, YungBossa, Dodo Bank$, Eazy Finesse, GG Chevy, Carver, Banzy and OTG Stiffy, with co-production from Rooftop and Hart.
The freestyle once again comes with visuals from Fenti Films, showcasing some of Ottawa’s south end neighbourhoods, as the cinematic aesthetic eventually gives way to black and white as the vibe of the song gets a little dark.
The series should hold you over until the release of Deflare’s long-awaited debut project. Stay tuned for that, but in the mean time, let us know what you think about the freestyle series so far.
