DRAKE ANNOUNCES MIDNIGHT RELEASE OF SCARY HOURS 3

scary hours 3 review

Just when you thought he was taking a break from making music, Drake has announced the midnight release of Scary Hours 3.

Weeks after announcing he would be taking some time away from making new music following the release of his eight studio album For All The Dogs, Drake is back at it again.

Earlier this week, he announced a new tour alongside J. Cole billed as “It’s All A Blur Tour: Big As The What?” The announcement was followed by a music video for their #1 Billboard hit “First Person Shooter”.

Now Drizzy has announced some brand new music with Scary Hours 3, the latest addition to the Scary Hours series. The EP drops tonight at midnight.

He took to Instagram to make the announcement with a cinematic trailer where we see Drake driving through downtown Toronto late at night before pulling up at Roy Thomson Hall. He’s handed a glass of wine and enters the auditorium where an orchestra is waiting.

In the video he says, “I feel no need to appease anybody. I feel so confident about the body of work I just dropped” before stating he’s not into long disappearances for the sake of mystery, seemingly taking a jab at artists like Kendrick Lamar who are known to take years off between projects.

He goes on to say that new bars have been pouring out of him in a way he hasn’t experienced since If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late and that the music on the new EP were written after the release of For All The Dogs. Translation: This music is fresh out the oven; no previous written music that didn’t make it onto other projects.

The Scary Hours series has given us big tracks like “God’s Plan”, “Diplomatic Immunity”, “What’s Next”, “Wants and Needs”, and “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” so we know we’re in for something memorable.

Scary Hours 3 drops tonight at midnight on al digital streaming platforms.
