DUVY DROPS LAVISH NEW VIDEO FOR “BARCELONA”

Duvy

Duvy is back with a lavish new video for “Barcelona” off his his December 2022 release How Did I End Up Here.

Hate it or love it, Toronto rap has been on the rise. Artists like Drake, Tory Lanez, and more recently Smiley and Pressa, have made it easier for other rappers to try their hand at getting their music outside of Toronto.

Over the years, we’ve seen a surge of Toronto rappers rise and fall with their music careers. Some promising artists have succumbed to the streets. One artist who has held his position is Duvy who is highly regarded for his catchy, melodic style and flow. This 19 year-old rapper created buzz off of his singles, but released his highly anticipated debut album last Spring. While this album Grasswayz was gearing up for its drop, he also took a trip to LA. He gauged label interest and paired his Canadian melodies with collaborators such as Murda Beatz.

Duvy’s December release “Somebody Else” reached over 150,000 views on Youtube, but left him wanting more. “Barcelona” is this musician’s fresh video drop which is cleverly titled after the soccer team. “Barcelona” is the sixth track on How Did I End Up Here but many of his fans consider it their favorite song from the album.

“They say the boy was a star, crazy he not on this earth” is just one of the many punchlines offered on “Barcelona.”

The video itself captures a montage of different lavish moments. This allows the song itself to breathe without being dominated by powerful visuals. Its casual energy helps the viewer to feel more connected with Duvy as he shows that despite his success, he’s still down-to-earth and sticking to what works. This approach has gotten him this far, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.
