Justin Bieber’s Justice tour rolled into Ottawa, Canada bringing with it plenty of hits, inspiration and effortless cool.
Tonight, Justin Bieber took to the Canadian Tire Centre stage in Ottawa for the latest stop on his Justice Tour in support of his 2020 release Changes and his 2021 release Justice. While other major stars consistently overlook Ottawa on their tours, Bieber never forgets to stop in the capital and fans thanked him for it.
The Canadian pop superstar rung off hit after hit in front of a capacity crowd, including mega hits “Holy”, “What Do You Mean?”, Yummy” and “Sorry”.
He then slowed down the tempo with tracks like “Love Yourself”, “All That Matters”, “Ghost” and “Lonely” before taking us back to his Purpose album with “Boyfriend”.
Of course, what would a Justin Bieber concert be without his first hit “Baby”? The song had the crowd feeling nostalgic as they sang together at the top of their lungs.
He then showed off his skills as a musician, sitting at the piano for an intro to “Peaches” before going into “Anyone”, the song dedicated to his wife. Under normal circumstances some would see this as a odd song to end an arena show with, but given recent headlines surrounding is wife’s health scare, it was a fitting and personal ending to the show. Photos of Hailey Bieber drew the largest applause of the night as pyro filled the air.
Bieber exuded an effortless cool the whole night, hitting his dance moves without appearing to overcompensate. He was comfortable and even took some time to take a jab at Ottawa Senators fans, plugging their provincial rivals, the Toronto Maple Leafs with a quick, “Go, Leafs, go!”
The set design and video package were impeccable as Bieber performed at times on a platform suspended above the crowd. Another set saw Bieber performing alongside two acoustic guitarists at an Ottawa bus stop. Meanwhile, peaceful landscapes and colourful and vibrant displays on a giant LED screen, including neon lights during his performance of “Confident”, took turns taking fans away to another world.
One thing’s for sure. Justin Bieber cares about his fans. He took some time to share some inspirational messages, letting crowd know how amazing they were; a message that is well-needed today. This is what separates Bieber from other pop performers. Not only does he sing and dance, and jump on the piano, but he wants you to leave with something―a feeling or a message. You get the sense he’s not doing this for the money; he’s about impacting people’s lives, and that he did.
