OTTAWA MUSIC VIDEO ROUNDUP | DECEMBER

To close out the year we got some great music videos from Black Iri$h, SVLM, Eddie Quotez, Josh Clarke and Vi. Here’s our Ottawa music video roundup for December according to release date. Once again, let us know in the comments if there are any videos from any genre we forgot.

Black Iri$h
Mars
Release date: December 13, 2018
Visual by: Imaginamick
Directed by: Black Iri$h

Black Iri$h has a reputation for having some of the most creative music videos in the capital. In December, he released the video for Mars which he directed himself. Imaginamick held down animation duties. True to the lyrics, the video includes an animated Black Iri$h and Elon Musk getting on a rocket ship and going to Mars. This has to be one of the most creative Ottawa music videos we’ve ever seen.

SVLM
405
Release date: December 14, 2018
Directed by: JustJay

SVLM always delivers quality music videos and 405 is no different. The JustJay directed video features scenes of SVLM awake at night, then facing pressure at work and at home from his girl. It’s pretty simple but it gets the point across.

Eddie Quotez
Ugly
Release date: December 27, 2018

Eddie Quotez is back with the video for Ugly off his upcoming EP SIMP. The video is full of clips of newscasts from around the world with some creative use of filters on top. Between the clips and beat you immediately start feeling emotional. Between scenes of polish brutality and the Charlottesville protests, the theme is the ugliness of racism.

Josh Clarke
One Night(Acoustic)
Release date: December 25, 2018
Directed by: Camilleon Prod.

The video for the acoustic version of Josh Clarke’s One Night is pretty simple (as an acoustic video should be). The video features Josh Clarke and guitarist Dan Joseph on a white background, but the star of the show is the silky smooth vocal and guitar playing from Clarke and Joseph.

Vi
Clover
Release date: December 31, 2018
Shot and Directed by: Megan Landry

I love this video. It’s always nice to see Ottawa starring in a music video and in the Megan Landry directed video for Clover we see Hintonburg’s very own Vi dancing and singing in Fil’s Diner and West Park Bowling in Wellington West. It’s a nice ode to her hood.
