Namour x Omari Mydz
On Me
Release date: June 28, 2019
Directed by: Namour
Shot and edited by: Ben Telford Visuals

This video dropped in late June. Since we missed putting it on our June roundup, we’ve added it to this month.

There’s a lot to love about this video. It has some strong Middle Eastern vibes- Shisha, belly dancers and friends sitting around a table eating food and drinking wine. A very well shot video for one of the city’s best Summer tracks.

Capé
Outtactrl
Release date: July 4, 2019
Directed by: DopeQuality Productions

The video for Capé’s “Outtactrl” is set in a scrap yard. It features Capé and his friends turning up on shipping containers and heavy equipment. Then it transitions to shots on an empty soccer field. Every once in a while we get the occasional smoke bomb and drone shot. It ends with his song “Genesis”, also off his EP Genesis.

JUWN
Crazy
Release date: July 12, 2019
Produced by: Heirmanos

With “Crazy”, JUWN brings some comic relief to our monthly roundup. It opens with Huey Draper arriving to do some yard. He finds JUWN looking over a fence at a girl. The video alternates between JUWN in the yard talking to his love interest and them at the grocery store or in their car. The video ends with more comic relief as Huey Draper and fellow Gelato member J Chinnasz vent about JUWN’s crappy work ethic.

Eazy Finesse
The Game
Release date: July 12, 2019
Directed/edited by: Ham Productionz

Eazy Finesse teamed with Ham Productionz on the video for The Game. The video opens with an overhead drone shot of downtown Toronto. Most of the video was shot at Nathan Phillips Square at Toronto City Hall, alternating with shots of her and her group Drew sitting in front of a house. The video already has over 9000 views so this Eazy Finesse x Ham Productionz collaboration is paying off.

Dynamic
Nothing to Lose
Release date: July 12, 2019
Directed by: BrownGuy

Next up we have a video from one of the busiest and most hardest working artists in the city (and the Video of the Month winner for June). In July, Dynamic released visuals for his song “Nothing to Lose” off his EP On A Quest.

Shot in Toronto, the video opens with Dynamic getting robbed at gunpoint and kidnapped. He jumps out of the car as it comes to a stop and runs away before turning on his attackers. This video has the best storytelling out of the videos are our list this month.

OTG
Fun Of Me
Release date: July 30, 2019
Shot/edited by: Goat Vision Studios

Apparently people used to make fun of OTG Stiffy and OTF Rhys but not anymore. In “Fun Of Me” we see the OTG members poolside or in front of nice cars. Of course, they’re surrounded by girls. This song and video has a good Summer vibe and is a bit of a change of direction after “Glizzy”.
