Romeo Don’t Die teams up with fellow Montreal-based M-Press Live for his new drill single “No Sleep Freestyle”.
Montreal-based artist Romeo Don’t Die has generated buzz in recent years with songs like “ACCESSIBLE” featuring Shreez and “Boom Boom Boom”. Now the Ottawa native is back with “No Sleep Freestyle” featuring Montreal’s M-Press Live, a follow up his 2023 single “Lonely” featuring fellow Ottawa native City Fidelia.
On the track, Romeo Don’t Die flexes the wordplay, rhyme scheme, witty punch lines and flows he’s known for with lyrics like:
“That was your girl say she gotten finer
That was your girl til I got beside her
Got behind her, bopped and whined her
I was finna blow like Oppenheimer
Tell me why they stopped the timer?
I’m Russian the money, I Vladimir
Put-in the work imma Brittany grinder”
But he doesn’t stop there. While the Brazilian baile drill production is fun and high energy and Romeo Don’t Die makes references to women and sex, he also brings deeper content by weighing on social issues, like colonization and the war in Gaza. Also, with his writing, delivery and sound, he proves that he’s an artist to watch.
