Zimbabwe born, Toronto artist Charmaine recently dropped her debut single “BOLD”. First impression – this rapper, songwriter and vocalist is completely raw, sexual and unfiltered, and not afraid to say what she wants. But despite lyrics like, “I’m addicted to this money. Why you think I’m so damn bold”, the single isn’t just about sex and money. There’s an underlying message of empowerment and flaunting what you got.

The release also came with some brand new visuals. True to the song’s name, the Eye Blake directed video features Charmaine making a statement with bold makeup and outfits while owning exactly who she is.

Charmaine says of her debut release, “I want people to feel like they can do anything. Be anything. They don’t have to pretend to be something they’re not. I want them to feel like stepping into their own power. To be BOLD is to be fearless, unapologetically you. To be able to see and understand that you are worthy, and you are amazing and beautiful. Particularly as a black woman, we’re often told to tone ourselves down. Not any mf more!!”

If you like what you hear you won’t have to wait to long. Charmaine’s debut EP is expected to drop in 2021.

“BOLD” is available on all major streaming platforms.
