Canadian R&B singer-songwriter, Nicole Chambers, takes listeners on a journey towards finding true love with her R&B ballad “Timeless”.
Canadian R&B/Neo-Soul singer-songwriter and artist, Nicole Chambers, is someone who strives to create authentic music that showcases her journey and growth; not only as an artist but as someone who allows the listener to envision and follow her journey through glimpses into her life experiences and reflections on love, self-growth and truth.
This was on full display once again with her single “Timeless” which she released last month. The song opens with Chambers in rehearsal, hitting runs as she gains feedback from those in the session, before the accompanying instruments kick in.
“Timeless” was written in the summer of 2021 and produced last fall with the help of local musicians Mark James, Truss and Daniel Espina. The orchestration and production are impressive as they sound like something you would hear during a live performance on MTV’s Unplugged or a late-night televised performance. The orchestration elevates the many sounds that come to life as they contribute to delivering the best feeling for the song.
With the synths, guitar, and drums blending well, “Timeless” is also saturated with dynamic progressions and uplifting melodies that bring that neo-soul vibe to life. Grounded in love and vulnerability, it’s more about the journey and less about the destination. Chambers demonstrates her capabilities as both a songwriter and vocalist through the captivating lyricism and song structure as she speaks more about finding the special someone after many moments of seeking love, but not receiving it in the way she would’ve expected.
Chambers also explains how timing is not an issue when everything is found perfectly, in regards to true love. Overall, the toned charisma and impressive ranges showcase many dynamics from the start to the end, making the song soothing and refreshing to hear along with the amazing background vocals and the unique direction of how the song is portrayed.
