PORTION TAKES US ALL AROUND THE WORLD WITH HIS LATEST SINGLE “8AM FLIGHTS”

Continuing his triumphant return, Scarborough’s own Portion speaks more on his growth and rise to fame as an artist through 8AM Flights and the upsides and downsides that come with it. Here’s Joshua Habtwold with his 8AM Flights review.

Scarborough’s own Portion has returned to bless the mic in his latest single, 8AM Flights. Since his last release, I Am Nothing Without – Trench Baby”, the Scarborough artist managed to gain much success and critical acclaim from that project and has since opened up for the likes of OHGEESY, Kali, & B. ROB, in many shows all over Canada. The melodious new release sparks the journey of Portion’s forthcoming album, Paradise, with an impassioned flow and soul-searching bars as he reflects on his life’s perspective.

The exquisite production with the vibrant sample at the beginning sets the tone for how the song emotes a reflective and deep perspective for listeners to understand. It starts with Portion speaking more on the past and how the lifestyle he lived at the time wasn’t easy and how being successful in music gained many opportunities and growth for him and his team.

The silent 808s and synths also follow in pattern to this reflective track and Portion speaks more on various topics, including teaching his people that there is a lifestyle better than what they’re living right now. He also draws comparisons through the luxurious and astonishing lifestyle in the high-class areas of Atlanta to the rough and impoverished lifestyle in the slums of Jamaica and Sint Maarten. The visual showcases tropical scenery, the various communities of each country, and luxurious views in paradise

“My recent travels taught me the importance of gratitude that’s directly impacted my music and views on life. ‘8AM Flights’ mirrors my current mentality,” Portion

The song further demonstrates how people are envious and expect more from Portion, though not everyone can experience the perks of success unless you’ve been with him through the tough times. With the vibrant samples on the production and the piano sounds bringing a smooth yet delicate vibe, Portion’s harmonious melodies and deep lyrics set the tone on how the idea of success can be a blessing and a curse at the same time.

The music video showcases the Scarborough artist visiting many places such as Jamaica, St Maarten, and Atlanta, and he showcases the lifestyle that people live in to explain the realities are different from what meets the eye. For people who enjoy the likes of Toosii, Rod Wave, Vory, and Lil Baby, Portion is someone that brings that energy and style, and it has been proven for sure on 8AM Flights.
