SAGE HARRIS TEAMS UP WITH PREME FOR NEW VISUALS FOR “TELL SOMEBODY”

Toronto R&B singer-songwriter Sage Harris teams up with friend and collaborator Preme for the visuals for their 2022 track “Tell Somebody”.

From his smooth vocals to his on stage performances, Toronto R&B singer-songwriter Sage Harris is no stranger to generating buzz. With a track record of being one of the rising artists in the city’s R&B scene, he’s shaking it up even further with the release of the visuals for his vibrantly refreshing banger “Tell Somebody” off of his 2022 EP, Figure It Out. After releasing his debut EP Prince Hills (where he also unofficially broke a world record for singing upside down), racking up over three million streams on a variety of songs, and much more, Sage is taking it to the next level with this video.

Featuring Scarborough’s own Preme and Atlanta rapper Kap G, Harris takes us through the captivating Toronto nightlife as he shares his feelings for his love interest in the song. Directed by Harris and Jason Gosbee, the visuals showcase some of the vibrant parts of Toronto, such as the Yonge and Dundas area, where three women drive and sing along to the lyrics.

Harris’ illustrious vocals and energy are in full display as he showcases his stellar energy and admirable charisma through his dance sequences and vibrant demeanour. His aura and energy are reminiscent of Chris Brown, as his dance moves, vocals, delivery, and energy make it easy to draw a comparison.

On the C-Gutta, Terrence Rowe, Mike Dupree, and Sage Harris produced beat, the fast-paced rhythm came through with hard-hitting hi-hats and 808’s along with echoing background vocals. The song details how to show one’s love and make a relationship official while not letting anyone get in the way, in any way, shape, or form. Sage’s verse brings a fast-paced vibe with the flow, with his vocals, dancing, and songwriting matching up to leading artists like Chris Brown and Jeremih who dominated the mid-late 2010’s. The experience is made even more enjoyable as we see Preme and Sage holding umbrellas in the rain on a dark Toronto night.

Overall, Sage Harris is definitely using his talents in the best way possible and his dedication to reviving the unique R&B sound that we grew up loving while adding vibrant tones and styles make it refreshing today.

His consistency and growth as an artist on “Tell Somebody” proves that he is on another level, not only when it comes to the Toronto R&B scene, but the entire R&B scene in general and we are definitely excited to see (and hear) what he comes up with next.
