Brampton Hip Hop artist EverythingOShauN released the music video for his latest single “Rent Free,” which came out on July 16 of this year, making it his fifth single in 2021. The video dropped on October 15 and already has over 17K views on Youtube.
OShaun taps into his Nigerian heritage, by adding a blend of Afrobeats and Hip Hop into his sound.
Both the song and video is sure to be “living in your mind rent free.” With it’s catchy hook, afrobeat and hip hop sound, followed by amazing visuals that celebrates women in all the different shades of black! Indeed, EverythingOShaun went against societal beauty standards and incorporated Black women with different skintones and curl patterns! Overall the video is giving melanin magic. Showing Black love and Black women enjoying themselves, now that’s something we can get used to seeing.
In an Instagram post about the video EverythingOShauN said:
“The video really represents the beautiful energy that these Queens brought to the screen and I am so thankful that each of them came through for me. Y’all made this epic and a vibe!!”
The music video was directed by Christine Boachie who is also a Black female producer, while the song was produced by his brother Xpressa a.k.a DJXP.
EverythingOshauN has revealed that he is currently working on a new project that will take things to another level for him and his audience as well. With the current success of “Rent Free”, many fans will feel comfortable having high expectations of his upcoming releases.
