RAPPER AND SINGER FAME HOLIDAY DROPS NEW CONCEPT ALBUM “TEMPORARY LOVE”

Fame Holiday

It was around this time last year that we were first introduced to Mississauga hip-hop artist Fame Holiday when he headlined the Easter weekend edition of Taste of the 6ix at Orchid Nightclub in downtown Toronto. Since then Holiday has been gaining momentum, releasing a lot of visuals and travelling to Atlanta, Montreal, and more recently, Barbados; a reflection of his global ambitions.

His hustle isn’t going unnoticed. Holiday was recently named one of Amazon’s Artists to Watch for 2020; a recognition for artists who are “poised to make a mark in 2020”.

Despite the global economic slow down due to COVID-19, the ambitious rapper and singer isn’t losing steam. Last week, he released his album Temporary Love, a concept album which was a long time in the making.

When asked about the concept for the album, Holiday told SHIFTER, “The concept is honestly what I feel my generation is right now. I feel like nobody is serious in situations, or even if they’re serious, it doesn’t last long…With the cover art, it’s a rose and what that rose represents is not just love and certain relationships I’ve been in; it’s also growth. I feel like from where I started as an artist to now, there’s been a lot of growth.”

On this project, Fame Holiday takes us on a rollercoaster ride of emotions from the uptempo “Bring It Back” and the Afro-Caribbean vibes on “Tonight”, to the slow R&B vibes on “Intoxicated” and the club on “Buss It Down”, showing his range as an artist.

Perhaps a further reflection of growing ambitions, Holiday worked mostly with American producers on the project, including OUHBOY, TroublemakerHank, Malconthebeat.

With very few features, which include Romeyo Wilson and LB Spiffy, what we were given is a project that not only shows Holiday’s confidence in being able to hold an audience for 46 minutes, but we get a personal connection with Holiday and his life.

“Temporary Love” is available on all major streaming platforms.
