City Fidelia and Stan Lukoki have teamed up with Public Records to launch the House of Ensemble record label.

In recent years, Ottawa artist and entrepreneur, City Fidelia, has amassed an impressive list of ventures all with the goal of helping to foster the music scene in the capital. In 2020, he co-founded the Real House of Ensemble recording studio and creative space alongside business partner Abe Abadi. Then in 2021, he launched the FRMULA artist development program alongside Rebecca Dickson. This is on top of being the Program Director at CHUO 89.1FM.

Now City Fidelia and his Montreal-based business partner Stan Lukoki have teamed with the Toronto-based Public Records to launch their new record label “House of Ensemble”. The three city partnership to be headquartered in Ottawa aims to provide a platform where Black voices and culture can thrive within the Ottawa music scene, with the plan to give hip-hop and R&B artists a chance to show off their talents and find their audiences.

“We are excited to partner with Public Records to launch this new label,” explains Fidelia. “Our goal is to create a space for Black voices to be heard and celebrated, and we believe this partnership will help us achieve that goal.

Lukoki agreed adding, “We want to give a voice to fellow talented artists, to give them the opportunity to gather the attention of the music industry, to showcase that people with a good soul and a hard-working mentality can also win in this race for success without having to falsify their personality.”

Ultimately, the label is about building bridges both in a city and country which lacks the infrastructure to launch talent, especially in Black/urban music.

“It’s important to us to not only showcase the talent that’s across Canada but build bridges to
them as well. City is an amazing artist with a fantastic ear so we saw this as a great way to do
that and support the new journey him and the Ensemble team are on”, adds Marketing Manager and A&R., Jamal Vickers.

With a commitment to making sure their label promotes diversity and inclusivity, House of Ensemble aims to prove that the power of music can bring people together and help everyone express themselves artistically.
