From hip-hop and R&B to Afrobeats, Black music is still blazing hot. Here are your 2024 hip-hop and R&B album release dates.
From Kehlani and and Beyonce to Chance the Rapper and Miguel, 2024 has some highly anticipated albums in store. Artists like 4Batz and Tems are expected to release their debut projects, while artists like SZA are expected to release deluxe versions of 2023 projects. Then there’s the illusive PARTYNEXTDOOR who will return with PARTYNEXTDOOR 4.
With Drake’s 2022 album “Honestly, Nevermind” and South Africa’s Amapiano retracing the Black roots of dance/electronic music, and Beyonce bringing country music back to its Black origins with Act II: Cowboy Carter, popular Black music is as diverse as ever. Add to that the growing global influence of Afrobeats/Afropop coming out of countries like Nigeria and the resurgence of Dancehall, and it’s clear that the dominance Black music had in North America with hip-hop and R&B is now worldwide.
In chronological order, here are your 2024 hip-hop and R&B album release dates, sprinkled with those of Afrobeats, and more.
