Philman George is an outstanding black man in the food service industry. After working at various restaurants and private clubs for 10 years, he climbed the ranks to become one of Canada’s only Black corporate chefs, working for High Liner Food Service. After over 10 years at High Liner, he took on a new role with Kraft Heinz as their corporate chef in Canada.
The husband and father of two boys also finds time to give back to the community. He is the co-founder of the Re-Seasoning Coalition, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing the representation and advancement of Black Canadians in the foodservice industry through research, programming, and community engagement.
He was also a founding trustee of the BE Foundation, an NGO working to improve the lives of people on his native island of Barbuda, and is a member of the Toronto Black Food Sovereignty Advisory Circle, a part of the Confronting Anti-Black Racism Unit at Toronto City Hall.
