The Toronto Black music scene has built a reputation for being divided and lacking community, but music and tech executive, Joel Naga, is doing something to help change that. After occupying roles at various record labels and streaming services, the father of two founded FILLTHEBLNK, a growing movement that helps to build connection and community, and a home away from home, for artists. It’s a safe place for artists to preview new music and meet other artists in the city. In 2023, he expanded FILLTHEBLNK’s footprint with stops in Ottawa and Montreal.
