In time for the Milan Winter Olympics, Dsquared2 returns with a Fall/Winter 2026 collection with nods to their Canadian roots.
Over the years, Canada has produced its share of global fashion and retail success stories, with Montreal, Vancouver, and Toronto giving rise to big names like Lululemon, Mackage, Canada Goose, Moose Knuckles, Buffalo Jeans, Club Monaco, and more recently October’s Very Own. But when it comes to high-fashion, luxury brands, Dsquared² is in a space all its own.
Founded by Toronto-born identical brothers Dean and Dan Caten in 1995, Dsquared² has been worn by some of the biggest names in entertainment, from Madonna to Rihanna.
After celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2025, the Milan-based fashion house returned with a timeless Fall/Winter 2026 show right in their own backyard at Rubattino56 in Milan.
The collection is a homage to Dean and Dan’s Canadian roots, with pieces made for the Great Outdoors and the cold Canadian winters, including hockey sweaters, oversized trapper hats, knitted sweaters, puffer jackets, racing suits, knit long johns, and denim, including the world famous Canadian tuxedo. With the Milan Winter Olympics right around the corner, it’s a rare and timely taste of high-fashion Canadiana as the twins flex their Canadian pride while sharing a collection that blends performance and timeless yet modern design.
We’re then taken out West as they pay homage to Canadian rodeo culture with teddy jackets and padded nylon chaps, as well as Canada’s Indigenous roots and fur trading past with oversized furs, and fur accents throughout the collection.
But the show wasn’t just a look to the past. It not only featured a custom soundtrack, created using AI technology, but it also introduced the new #D2speed hybrid eyewear. Developed in collaboration with Austria-founded, Italian-based sunglass company Carrera, it features pieces that celebrate sport heritage, drawing inspiration from vintage 1970’s ski goggles.
With this inspired collection, it’s clear that despite their global success, Dean and Dan Caten haven’t forgotten the country that raised them.
