The highly talented Masego brought his You Never Visit Me tour to a sold out Toronto show. Tenzin Choegyal calls Masego a must-see performer.
Masego (Micah Davis), a Jamaican-American artist known for incorporating the saxophone into his music, had an outstanding sold-out show at History in Toronto. Kicking off his You Never Visit Me North American Tour with Ogi in Las Vegas, Toronto was the 12th stop on the list. Ogi, a Nigerian-American rhythm and blues singer, killed her set performing her first debut album, Monologues, accompanied by guitarist Josh Porter.
Starting his show off with a personalized remix version of his third most streamed song “Navajo”, which was also sampled in “Champagne Poetry” by Drake, Masego had everyone singing and screaming.
While performing “Mystery Lady”, he threw multiple roses into the crowd, which led to women going after them, screaming even louder. This song features Don Toliver, who unfortunately was not in attendance but the people of Toronto made up for his absence and sang his part word for word.
His distinguishable song with Devin Morrison, “Yamz” was a performance worth seeing if you haven’t already. This song went viral on social media, gaining over 8.9 million streams on Spotify alone. Masego performed a personalized remix version of “Yamz”, similar to “Navajo”.
Wrapping this sold-out show with his biggest hit with over 360 million streams on Spotify, “Tadow” was the best possible choice. Not only is it the most-known song in his discography, but Masego also brought out his saxophone one last time for a solo performance, captivating his fans and leaving in awe.
Overhearing so many fans stating “We need to come to his show again” as they exit the venue proves that Masego is a one of a kind performer that you must come to see next time he’s in your city.
