Jordayla prepare for the wedding and things don’t go as planned for Spencer at the draft. Here’s our All American Season 6 Episode 12 recap.
It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for. Spencer James has finally made it to the NFL Draft. Fans have been waiting six seasons to get here after enduring so much. Let’s see how the night unfolds.
Spelivia’s big day
It’s morning at the Beach house and Spencer and Olivia are starting their day together. She picks on him as they talk about his potential team. He gives her a gift because it’s also her book signing day. She loves it and cherishes the quiet moments they have together.
At the James house it’s all that glitters is gold as they go through a large selection of jewelry that Spencer gets to show off on the red carpet. Dillon is busy choosing his big ticket item while Grace gets a chance to take in the moment. She reflects on how she’s raised her two boys to be successful young men who no longer need her. Spencer then surprises her with a new car so she can travel to wherever he ends up.
Laura is proud of Liv and her book being completed. She wants to do a series, but, of course, it depends on how her first book sells. Olivia’s book signing attracts only family as she continues to question if she’s on the right track. Layla proves to be a good friend and sister encouraging her to find her audience. Liv reaches out to Kia who organizes a reading for her at Crenshaw High School with the perfect audience. Her book is an inspiration to them and provides a backdrop for Spencer’s day as well.
Agent Eric questions Spencer’s spending and Spencer reassures him he won’t go crazy. Eric reminds him that he is being watched and has a busy week ahead to ensure his place in the draft. When Spencer greets a fellow athlete, Eric reminds him that these are not friends but competition. After Eric hijacks Liv’s book signing, making it into a press event to impress teams, Spencer gets angry with him and lashes out telling him to back off. Eric later apologizes and so does Spence as they get ready for the draft.
Asher’s new beginning
Asher’s journey to coaching continues with him trying to get the attention of Coastal’s new head coach, Coach Edison. He finally gets his chance and presents the coach with a whole bind with intel on the roster. Asher later goes back to his office only to find his harder work in the trash. Asher decides he’s going to move on from Coastal and reaches back into his past to help out the next generation at Beverly.
Jordayla’s wedding preparations
Meanwhile, Layla and Jordan are gearing up for their wedding, happening the next day. As the planning progresses, Jordan realizes he doesn’t know what comes next for them, like where they will live or whether Layla wants kids. He’s also having trouble deciding who his best man will be, which is priority one for Layla since Liv proclaimed herself the maid of honour. Jordan ends up reminiscing with Asher and asks him to be his best man. Later, Layla shares that she has been thinking about their future and isn’t worried about what’s to come.
Coop’s new role
Coop is giving us best friend vibes to the max as she assumes the role of Spencer’s manager. Kind of unexpected, but fitting. All episode, Coop is reminding Spencer what’s at stake. When Eric tells Spencer he has an event later in the day, Spencer pushes back because he refuses to miss Olivia’s book signing. Coop agrees to help Eric by making sure he gets to all his other events. Later, Coop gets her wish when Spencer calls her his manager on national TV.
Grace is beaming with pride as she watches Spencer talk about who’s helped him get to this point, including a nod to Coach Billy. Seated for the draft, Spencer is excited and believes he will go to St. Louis as a top three pick. When his competition gets drafted by St. Louis, Liv reminds him that no matter what happens, he will make the most of it. The episode closes with another rival being drafted as the final pick of the first round. Everyone is left questioning what happened to star wide receiver and All American, Spencer James.
Final thoughts
I am shaking my head at this one, and if Twitter is any indication, fans are as well. This is the moment we’ve been waiting for and Spencer is left high and dry. Now I know we have three more episodes and there are more rounds in the NFL draft but I, along with others, had high hopes for Spencer going first round after a six year build up. The drama could have come later, but I digress. All American I still love you but please give us some happy moments for Spencer.
All American airs Mondays at 8pm on the CW.

Funny how certain characters get things handed to them but Spencer has to be traumatized, struggle, get a win and lose it than be humbled just to get his comeuppance. #AllAmerican pic.twitter.com/uKbLLbNncF
