Andi visits Gary, Fatima gets a new position, and Maurice returns. Here’s our recap of Tyler Perry’s Sistas Season 8 Episode 4.
After sitting out the first three episodes, Maurice finally returns. Although he usually extra, he provides a sentimental but still overly dramatic moment. Meanwhile, Gary is still recovering from the stabbing and Andi is looking to pay him a visit.
So without delay, let’s get into what went down on Tyler Perry’s Sistas Season 8 Episode 4.
Andi vs. Hudson
The episode opens with Hudson questioning why Andi is at the hospital. She says she wants to see if he’s okay, but he doesn’t think her intentions are pure. She threatens to file a restraining order against him after finding out he’s been watching her for a long time. When she tries to walk past him into Gary’s room, Hudson gets physical with her.
After Hudson produces a document stating he is Gary’s power of attorney, he won’t allow her to see Gary, but quickly (and suspiciously) has a change of heart.
When Andi goes in to see Gary, she remembers their good times, how much she really loved him and let her guard down. After shedding some tears, he wakes up, but there’s a little mishap.
Robin is wildin’
Robin is wildin’, asking Fatima who she was on a call with. Fatima gets honest with Robin and says she can’t trust him despite his previous relationship with Andi. She wants to know why he’s conveniently here, especially at the same time that Gary is in the hospital. He insists he’s not here for Andi; he’s here to make sure the firm is running smoothly. She’s also questioning why he gave Hayden Andi’s course load. Robin confirms that Hayden is now Fatima’s boss, but it’s to keep him honest in his work.
In their first meeting, he says that he’s looking forward to Andi going to jail so he can fire Fatima. Soon, Zac pulls up at the office and Hayden delivers the news about Hayden being her boss. As her new boss, Hayden threatens to have Zac thrown out of the office.
When Fatima and Zac are alone, she asks whether Robin could be behind Gary being stabbed. She also asks Zac to stop eating because the smell is making her nauseous. Yup, Fatima has a bun in the oven.
Tony’s mistake, again
At the airport, Tony pulls up to Danni’s kiosk with a surprise. He tells her about a program that could get her a promotion at work, but she’s not trying to do extra work for free. She can’t believe that after all the time he’s known her, he thought that’s a surprise she’d want. He wants her to advance in her career, especially since Karen, Sabrina, and Andi are all advancing, but she doesn’t want to advance in that career. He’s trying to help, but it comes across as judgmental.
When Danni gets upset at feeling patronized, it starts to create a scene. Danni encourages him to go to Italy to lead his kids instead of trying to lead her. He offers to have her removed from the leadership training program, but the optics wouldn’t be good. She lets him know that in the future, she doesn’t need him to make my decisions for her. Really, they just need to be honest that this relationship isn’t working and that they want different things. Cue Preston’s return.
Maurice returns
Maurice makes his first appearance of the season as we see him and Sabrina working at the bank.He doesn’t feel bad that Gary is in the hospital.
Sabrina’s former nemesis, Paige, returns as well as she shows up at the bank, but Maurice doesn’t want any smoke. Paige questioned whether it was Sabrina’s “gay minion”, Maurice, who called corporate and said she was taking backshots at work. After Paige threatened to sue the company for firing her without evidence, she was given her job back. But Sabrina isn’t having it. She wants to see proof that Paige was given her job back.
Sabrina is done and tired, and it’s not even about Paige. She’s tired of the investigation. She’s tired of putting her girls, and everyone else, first. She’s tired of shrinking and swallowing her words. She’s tired of people taking and taking from her. She’s tired of playing the side character in her own life. She wants to know when it’s her time to have good karma. Oddly enough, Maurice is the one to offer her some wise words and encouragement, reminding her that she has main character energy. This is a really good sentimental moment that a lot of people can relate to, including Black women.
Karen’s in hot water
At the salon, Pam is getting on Karen about putting together the Roots To Riches business plan. Soon an irate customer comes in complaining that Roots To Riches messed up her hair.

A part of the reason Danni is still with Tony is because she doesn’t want Preston to be right, in terms of pushing him away. When in reality her and Tony should call it quits. #SistasOnBET pic.twitter.com/6EQdnVGKH2
