The Tejadas mourn Lorenzo and Tariq confronts his friends about Lauren’s murder. Here’s our Power Book II Ghost Season 3 Episode 6 review.
Power Book II: Ghost has more twists and turns than a rollercoaster and we see that again in this episode as emotions are running high.
Tejada family deal with the aftermath of Lorenzo (Berto Colon)‘s death as the kids learn about the news. Cane (Woody McClean) is forced to man up and handle the family’s clean money via Lorenzo’s life insurance policy, but he suspects Monet (Mary J. Blige) had something to do with his murder. Thinking the Russians were responsible, Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray), who is now in charge thanks to Monet, sets his own plan in motion to get revenge. Unfortunately, the move could mean a war.
Meanwhile, Lauren (Paige Hurd) goes home to her parents’ house, but finds out from Jenny Sullivan (Paton Ashbrook) they were moved after her “death” for their own safety.
Lauren isn’t the only problem for Jenny. After Cooper considers not helping her because of her lies and not trusting him, she threatens to use him being at Truth Nightclub the night of Ghost (Omari Hardwick)’s murder and other information she has against him to strong arm him into cooperating.
Meanwhile, Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) confronts Brayden (Gianni Paolo) at work about Lauren’s murder, as the two channel Ghost and Tommy (Joseph Sikora). After pressing him he learns it was probably Effie (Alix Lapri) Effie (Alix Lapri) who was behind it.
Interview with Cooper Saxe actor, Shane Johnson
While driving out of town, Tariq confides in Effie about why he murdered his father. Effie in turn tells him about sexual abuse she faced at home, but that’s not the confession he wanted. He takes her to the scene of Lauren’s so-called death and confronts Effie about what happened. With the news out in the open, Tariq cuts Brayden and Effie out of the business, so Brayden uses some leverage at Weston Holdings to try and get back in.
In an unexpected meeting with his grandma at Raina’s grave, Tariq considers changing his ways, but that sentiment is short-lived (or a lie). Not knowing who he can trust, Tariq turns to Diana (LaToya Tonodeo) which upsets Effie who may be pushed in the direction of Cane.
True to the name of the show, this episode has once again created upheaval and a change in the balance of power. This episode has sowed the seeds for more changes in the balance of power as Tariq decides to make a move against Noma (Caroline Chikezie). It also has our main characters, once again, questioning who they can trust. Overall, this episode is successful in pulling in the viewer and setting the stage for ultimately betrayal of the season to be revealed.
