SVLM, one of the leading hip-hop and R&B artists out of Canada’s capital, recently signed to record label REIGN Music, a division of the Montreal and Toronto based Higher Reign Music Group. Established in 2017 and distributed by Sony Music Canada / Orchard, HRMG helped many indie Canadian artists reach more than 70 million streams worldwide, Top 40 radio charts, and also earned 2 Gold Records in Canada.
Meanwhile, SVLM has been making noise since the release of his EP Haven Nights in 2018 which included his hit song “Day Dreaming”. The project earned him placement on leading Spotify playlists including Hip Hop Central and Northern Bars, and charted on the Viral 50 chart. Since then he has gone on to release a steady streams of hits, including “405”, “Ball Out” and “Big Fish”.
Max Roach, A&R at Higher Reign Music Group, says of his latest signing, “From the first moment I first heard “Black Black” on a playlist, I knew that we needed to sign SVLM to REIGN. Not only does he create incredible music, he is one of the most positive people I have ever met. Bringing his energy onto the team absolutely propels our sound to new levels.”
This is the second Ottawa signing for REIGN Music in 2020. Back in March, the label announced the signing of R&B singer-songwriter Chrissy Spratt.
