Since its opening in 1988, the Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe have played host to some of the biggest names in music and comedy, including Russell Peters, Boyz II Men, Harlem Gospel Choir, Howie Mandel, Craig Ferguson, Jim Belushi, The Trailer Park Boys, and hometown boys Norm MacDonald and Tom Green.
This February and March, the Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe will play host to a series of rhythm-infused, action-packed shows that are guaranteed to get you out of your seat.

FREEDOM! THE SPIRIT AND LEGACY OF BLACK MUSIC | February 9, 2023
Created music directed and starring Beau Dixon
A huge success in last summer’s Stratford Festival Cabaret Series, FREEDOM! chronicles the history of Black music, from church hymnals to the blues, from jazz to rock ’n’ roll, R&B and rap. Created music directed and starring Beau Dixon, FREEDOM! features a company of ten Black performers and musicians who are guaranteed to get you on your feet.
While Black musicians have played an important role in the evolution of popular music, creating whole genres that we still enjoy today, their contributions have often been forgotten while their white counterparts rose to stardom.
FREEDOM! retraces the Black roots of popular music throughout the decades and has something for the whole family and music lovers alike to enjoy.

REBECCA NOELLE | February 16, 2023
Ottawa’s Rebecca Noelle and her soulful and sultry vocals are set to take the stage in front of a hometown crowd on February 16th.
For the past 15 years, she has built a name for herself, collaborating locally with The Peptides, The Commotions, and her electronic duo The Stellasonic, and sharing bills with great artists such as B.B. King, Johnny Winter, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Buddy Guy, Norah Jones and Bonnie Raitt world-wide. After being crowned first runner-up on TVA’s La Voix (The Voice : Canada) she was invited to make an appearance at The Jacksons show in Montreal.
Thanks to her three octave vocal range, Rebecca has versatility that allows her explore a variety of styles, including soul which she is most known for.

Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Nathan & The Zydeco Cha-Chas
Formed in 1977, the highly energetic The Dirty Dozen Brass Band are recognized worldwide as pioneers of the modern New Orleans brass band movement. They have linked to major acts such as Elvis Costello, Dr. John, Widespread Panic, Modest Mouse, Dave Matthews Band, The Black Crowes and many others.
The Dirty Dozen Brass Band will be joined by Louisana Music Hall of Fame inductees Nathan & The Zydeco Cha-Chas. Formed in 1985, the band brings their unique take on regional South Louisiana music to the Meridian Theatres stage.

CIRQUE KALABANTE | March 3, 2023
This is the circus like you’ve never seen before! The Afrique En Cirque combines the strength, agility and joy of life found in African youth guided by the pulsating rhythm of the djembes of Guinea.
With daring acrobats and musicians, the show combines modern North American Circus performance with original choreography and an exploration of traditional African arts.
