The Sistas learn more details about what happened with Karen at the salon. Here’s our review of Tyler Perry’s Sistas Season 6 Episode 4.
**SPOILER ALERT**
The fire at the salon is long gone, but after tonight’s episode, a few new fires have been started leading to a lot of new drama.
While Sistas has give us good episodes, there aren’t many that would be consider excellent. Season 6 Episode 4 was one of them (not as much on the technical side as in the drama and storytelling, but we’ll get into that later).
The episode continues where the last one left off with Pam sitting in the law firm telling Zac, Andi and Fatima about Karen’s apparent death.
On the way to the salon Fatima and Andi call Danni and ask her to meet them at the salon providing little to no details which leaves Danni scared.
Sabrina and Bayo are nauseatingly smitten with each other after returning from a night out. They are quickly interrupted by Maurice and it’s clear’s the two men don’t get along. After calling Maurice disgusting, it appears Bayo is homophobic, building on the storyline from last season. When Bayo leaves Danni calls Sabrina to head to the salon.
As the whole cast arrives at the salon, the group is distraught, especially Zac who gets into an argument with Aaron, as they learn there’s a body inside. His reaction to the news doesn’t go unnoticed by Fatima as it’s clear he still loves her. Soon Preston shows up as he and Danni share an embrace.
The girls start sharing good memories about Karen when she arrives out of nowhere. Zac embraces her, further angering Fatima.
The ladies head out relieved, leaving the men to fend for themselves. Fatima meets up with Angela at the restaurant to voice her concerns, but the usually messy Angela is the surprising voice of reason.
The episode ends with the girls getting together at Andi’s house where Karen reveals she’s learned who the father of her baby is.
Technically speaking, the green screen work on this episode was a little suspect in the scenes outside of the salon, some of the acting was a bit off, and the “Karen is dead” storyline could’ve been dragged out for another episode or two, but this episode was still well done for a few reasons.
First, it is the first time in recent memory where the entire cast shared a scene together (except for Hayden). We’ve had the men share a scene while playing basketball and the girls share scenes together all the time (minus Fatima), so this episode was a special treat for long time fans.
Second, it set up two separate storylines as we can expect some new tension in Zac and Fatima’s relationship over his apparent feelings for Karen (Yes, he was out of order and doing too much). We’re also about to finally learn about t the paternity of Karen’s baby.
If you’re looking for perfectly executed TV, this is probably not the show for you. But if you want good to occasionally great storytelling with a lot of drama and over the top “extraness”, season six of Tyler Perry’s Sistas is hitting the right notes so far.
