Justin Bieber and Don Toliver have teamed up for a new single “Honest”, teased earlier this week. The song is off his upcoming project “JB7”.
Although he’s in the thick of his Justice Tour, Friday morning at midnight, Justin Bieber took some time to bless fans with his recently teased single “Honest” featuring Cactus Jack Records artist Don Toliver. The song, which was teased in a playful Cole Bennett-directed video released earlier in the week called “I Feel Funny”, is a lead up to Bieber’s upcoming album JB7. On the single the two pair their respective signature sounds over the bouncy yet laid back production.
Bieber has been known to drop a few songs about love since getting married in 2018. Well, he’s once again in the mood for love on his latest release.
Off top you the sun in my morning (In my morning)
I tired to get away but it’s boring (But it’s boring)
You’re my safe haven and I needed all along (All along)
And you’re my dime piece and I can’t take less than one (Less than one, you the)
Later in his verse he confirms he’s talking about his wife Hailey, who has inspired some of his songs in recent years, singing:
I look straight in your eyes
The song also came with a music video. Shot once again by Bennett and release on his Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel, the video opens with a shot of a sky mask wearing Bieber. We soon see Bieber holding a snow globe until we’re transported inside the winter wonderland where the Canadian pop superstar and Toliver are riding ski-doos with their female companions. There’s some cool movement and green screen production from the filmmaker and director who recently worked with Lil Durk on the video for “What Happened To Virgil”. The video reveals that the vocal chemistry Justin Bieber and Don Toliver share on the track translates to on-camera chemistry as well.
