Ottawa hip-hop artist and songwriter TwoTiime had been pretty quiet in recent months, but this week he re-emerged with a new live rooftop performance video for his track “Deep Inside”.
Shot by Toronto music video director My Name French, it opens with a drone shot of downtown Ottawa and a close up of Parliament Hill before switching to TwoTiime inside the Andaz Hotel in the Byward Market. He then rides the elevated to the 16th floor rooftop patio overlooking the market and Parliament and treats fans to a performance.
Featuring a healthy dose of jump cuts and slow motion shots, the video is like something we haven’t seen before from an Ottawa artist. The video creates a sense of grandeur and excitement, words many wouldn’t associate with the capital, and perhaps for the first time presents TwoTiime as not just a storyteller from the streets but an artist showing glimpses of stardom.
Meanwhile, the song itself, available now on Soundcloud, is a collaboration with UK producer Ninez and features subtle drill elements. From the vocals to the production, TwoTiime may have very well ended the year with arguably his best offering of 2021 so far.
