UKFRENCH releases his new single Emotional, another bilingual offering from the London-based rapper. SHIFTER’s Elio Elia takes a closer look.
Very few artists in the UK music scene have as unique a selling point as bilingual rapper UKFRENCH. The rapper seamlessly blends both English and French lyrics into his music, producing a fascinating sound.
This was once again highlighted in the artist’s latest single “Emotional “. The transition from English to French and back again is done so well you almost forget it happened. This is due to the 74ent.tv CEO’s strong flow which helps smooth out his distinctive style.
The song was inspired by his own experience of having to start all over again.
“The song is about starting again, being able to strive again and all the hard work made till now; the achievements. How I had to restart from scratch again”, he told SHIFTER. “Even though there was some ups and downs, I still manage to strive through despite all the bad energies and emotions, hence why I say in the song ‘Don’t be messing with my head and get emotional, ’cause we starting from nothing.'”
The strong vocals are accompanied by heartfelt lyrics where UKFRENCH describes his journey thus far, where he began at the bottom and fought his way to where he is today. The music video helps display this theme as well, showing UKFRENCH in a London neighbourhood as he raps about starting from the nothing.
The track is the first song released by the artist since “Shake It”, his collaboration with Shone Rumulus, aka Big S, who starred in the hit TV show Top Boy. UKFRENCH even brought back the video director Chozn Media for the new video
“Emotional” is available on all streaming platforms.
