    Tensions continue to rise between Spencer and Jordan, and Olivia’s secret is revealed. Here’s our All American Season 6 Episode 5 recap.

    We’re back with another episode of All American, as a secret about Liv’s bestie Ashley is revealed and competition between Spencer and Jordan rises as they near the NFL draft.

    Here’s a look at what went down on the latest episode of All American.

    Spencer’s spiraling?

    We start out with Spencer and the boys on the field. He starts off well, but when Coach Mac changes up the play, Spencer leans in to his passion and gets kicked off the field. He’s being called selfish and costs the team a potential chance at at nationals. This, of course, puts more space between him and Jordan.

    Olivia’s book (and surprise guest)

    Olivia is working on her mom’s chapter of her book. She’s struggling to get through and gets a surprise visit from her London bestie, Ashley, who isn’t exactly who we thought they were. Ashley helps her creative process and seems to know her in ways nobody else does.

    She’s afraid to open old wounds for her mom, but she’s also afraid that opening wounds for her mom will open up wounds for her and set her back in her own healing journey.

    Coop and Laura’s tension

    Coop continues to wonder if Patience is okay. She’s also getting ready to have Laura as her professor, thinking they will have a great time together. When Laura introduces Patience’s case to the class, Coop is concerned. Of course, Laura didn’t share the details, but hopes to get the class to shed light on the case. Her and Coop butt heads and Coop has to adjust to this change in her relationship with Laura and focus on just being a student.

    Jordayla’s new roommates

    Rent has increased and the beach house is in need of a new roommate. Jordan is tasked to find a new house mate and Layla joins him for the ride. They go through some random singles but land on a seemingly perfect couple who aren’t as perfect as they seemed once they arrive.

    Preach’s program

    Preach is back with the students at Crenshaw and gets the news from Grace that his after school program is being cut. Preach asks Grace to help him write a grant, with the help of Dillon to keep the program going because without it, kids like Deion are going to have more trouble.

    Spencer is at his former school checking in on Deion and is introduced to his sister who lays into Deion about his performance on the field. Like Spencer, he had a bad game but in front of scouts. She believes he’s blown his chances. Spencer talks to him about his own passion getting in the way and it triggers a panic attack in Deion. Spencer uses his other talents and experience to calm Deion down and uncovers that Deion is not as passionate about the game as originally thought (and that he’s actually a good counselor).

    Olivia’s secret

    With Ashley in town, Olivia organizes a Vortex hang so they can meet her new London bestie but not mentioning that Ashley is a dude has the group even more surprised, especially Spencer who feels a type of way. He’s cordial and mature but it puts some distance between him and Olivia. Making sure not to react. he takes a beat and processes his feelings but it’s a little too late leaving the normally communicative couple at odds.

    All American airs Mondays at 8pm on the CW.
