Andi learns to fight, Penelope is tweaking, and Jordan looks for help. Here’s our Tyler Perry’s Sistas Season 8 Episode 9 recap.
Penelope is tweaking
Jordan is in Penelope’s car wondering what Penelope is doing at the hospital. She confides that she thinks she might have stabbed Gary. She hasn’t been remembering things. She’s been blacking out since she lost the baby. After losing the baby, it was hard to sleep. Agent Watt took her to a doctor and prescribed her some strong sleeping pills. That’s when she started blacking out. She only remembers the night she left protective custody. She followed Gary to the banquet hall, but she doesn’t remember Jordan finding her walking around incoherent with blood all over her. Jordan wants her to come to his place, but Agent Watt calls to get her to come to the station. Penelope gets frantic and starts to spaz out. Jordan asks her to trust him. He has a plan.
Andi learns to fight
Meanwhile, after Penelope slapped her, Fatima is teaching Andi how to fight so she can protect herself. Andi looks so worthless trying to fight. The lessons are a bit wild, and aggressive, but what else would we expect from Fatima. Mid-lesson, Jordan calls Andi to help him and Penelope. Fatima offers to stick around in case Penelope acts up, but Andi is irrationally confident in her newfound fighting skills.
When Jordan and Penelope arrive at Andi’s he lets her know that Agent Watt wants to speak with Penelope. He asks Andi to go with her and represent her.
Unfortunately, Andi doesn’t think it’s a good idea since she’s a divorce lawyer and a suspect, but she offers to refer them to a friend. Penelope doesn’t trust her and doesn’t want her help. She’s tweaking.
When they leave, Andi calls Robin and asks him to call her back. As soon as she puts down the phone, the elevator doors to her apartment open and a bewildered Gary appears.
Zatima plan is in motion
Zatima’s plan is in full effect. When Hayden and his friend leave the gym, Zac is eavesdropping and overhears Hayden talking about finding the video of Gary and Tamara having sex. When Hayden walks into the office, Zac is on the phone and wants to tell Fatima what he learned about Hayden, but he’ll tell her later.
Robin asks Hayden to have a word and asks him about talking poorly about Andi. He cautions him about slandering Andi and being too hard on Fatima. He says she’s too valuable to the company to do grunt work. Robin is redeeming himself after being a bit douchie in the first few episodes of the season. He gives Hayden one more chance to get his act together. It’s now Fatima’s turn to get called into Robin’s office. He lets her know that he spoke to Hayden and that he shouldn’t be bothering her anymore, but she isn’t buying it. She thinks he’s up to something.
But it looks like it’s working. Hayden is being nicer to her and asking her nicely to help him with Ms. Marie Willis’ latest venture, Roots To Riches. They’ll be working closely with Karen. He wants her to make sure Ms. Marie isn’t getting involved in a bad investment. He’s actually going overboard in being polite and nice.
Maurice wants his friend back
At the bank, Maurice overhears Sabrina on the phone with the lab. She wants to know if there’s any information about Rich’s sperm samples. They agree to expedite the samples.Maurice comes in and wants her friend back. She only talks about getting pregnant nowadays. Maurice suggests they go on a double date with their men. On their double date, Maurice isn’t happy when the conversation turns to babies and basketball.
Aaron to the rescue?
At the salon, Aaron offers to help Karen and Pam with their business plan. They already have one, but he offers to help the business in any way.
Later, Karen fills Aaron in on everything with the disgruntled partner and Ms. Marie. As a business partner, Aaron wants to know why he wasn’t informed sooner, especially with the amount of money he’s invested.
Karen and Aaron share a nice moment when one of the babies starts kicking and she lets him feel the kick. It makes it seem like something romantic could possibly happen between them. In the middle of the feel good moment, Zac walks in and doesn’t look too happy.
Danni and Leonard squabble up
At the airport, Leonard, one of Danni’s creepy coworkers, is surprised she got into the leadership program because she cusses out customers and comes to work late. Danni calls out his white privilege. He accuses her of sleeping her way to the top. Danni says that Leonard is lucky she’s in therapy or she’d staple his ear to his jaw. When Tony arrives on the scene, Leonard lets Tony know that people are talking about his and Danni’s relationship, including their PDA.Tony tells Danni they need to turn it down a notch at work, but Danni isn’t sure he can handle that. Danni wants to make a game of it and see who will break first.
Gary’s confusion
Meanwhile, Hudson thinks Gary is pretending to not remember anything, but he doesn’t know who Hudson is. He wants Gary to drop the act, but Gary is tired and confused. He asks Hudson to come back later. When Gary tries to speak to the doctor, Tamara arrives to see him. She overhears the doctor saying he might have amnesia. That’s all Tamara needs to hear. She says she’ll catch up with Gary after he’s released. When Hudson returns to Gary’s room, he’s gone without a trace.
