Today, rapper and producer BLikeBrett released the visuals for “Ten Toes”. Shot and Edited by Palmer Media Co., the video features BLikeBrett in the studio rocking the microphone with his signature long hair and bucket hat.
“The concept for the music video was to keep it simple. The song starts with the line ‘Give me a minute, imma tell you how I live’ and how I live is exactly as shown in the video; locked in the studio doing what I love to do most”, he explains. “In the same verse I emphasize the fact that I came from Ottawa and Ottawa is what I will continue to represent stating, ‘Hometown , Home Team , Cody Ceci’, referring to Ottawa born hockey player Cody Ceci who went on to play for the Ottawa 67’s and Ottawa Senators before being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
“Ten Toes” is the next single off of Breakfastfordinner, the six song EP released by the rapper and producer last month. While the writing, composing and recording for the project took place at Brett’s home studio, overall production was handled by his partner and friend, Flo Reutter, at Riverside Studios Berlin.
With catchy hooks and bouncy drums, Breakfastfordinner represents Brett’s take on daily life, drawing influences from all over the musical spectrum.
“The album came into fruition in the late summer of 2019 when I was introduced to the producer Flo Reutter through my good friends in the band Zig Mentality”, he explained when asked how the project came together. “When I was playing my demos for them at the time , I extended the invite to Flo to co-produce the first single ‘Big Dutch’ and then we just kept the ball rolling .Now here we are with a six track EP.”
