There’s excitement in the air as the students of Crenshaw and Beverley high schools prepare for prom. SHIFTER’s Kevin Bourne breaks it all down in his All American Winter finale recap.
The winter finale of All American sees the students of Crenshaw and Beverley high schools prepare for prom. Jordan is dateless after Simone leaves for her tennis tournament, but all isn’t lost as the story continues to hint at a budding romance between Jordan and Layla.
The episode also introduces us to two new characters. First, Clay, a music producer friend of Layla’s who doesn’t hesitate to shoot his shot with her, which doesn’t go unnoticed by Jordan. Second, Jaymee, a waitress who makes quite the impression on Asher as he’s pressured by JJ to find a date for prom.
Speaking of prom, a flood at Beverley forces the school to cancel it much to the disappointment of JJ. That is until a last minute solution is found. But the flood isn’t the only threat to prom as both Spencer and Olivia are each tempted to play the hero, coming to the rescue through a series of events that take the focus off of their special night. As a result, Spencer must decide whether he’ll take the rap for something he didn’t do which threatens his future at Crenshaw.
Nevertheless, prom ends up being a family affair full of feel-good moments, including a long overdue and touching exchange between Bill Sr., Billy and Laura.
Fans will unfortunately have to wait nine weeks to find out what happens next. The Spring season of All American premieres on February 21, 2022 at 8pm followed by the series premiere of All American: Homecoming at 9pm.
