TSN Sportcentre anchor, Kayla Grey, is set to host and executive produce a brand new sports show called THE SHIFT with Kayla Grey she recently announced. The now veteran sportscaster took to Instagram to share the news.
“Debuting on May 13th, what I’m hoping @theshift_sports represents is the shift in how we discuss, consume, engage and add nuance to the biggest stories in sports, life and culture. THE SHIFT lives right at that intersection and is something that this landscape has yet to see.”
The new program, powered by Dell XPS, will feature 1-on-1 interviews, panel discussions, the latest drops and breaking news and will provide a platform for important conversations.
Prior to joining TSN, the College of Sports Media graduate spent time as Digital Broadcast Journalist for Global News in Winnipeg and a senior reporter for CFTK-TV news in Prince Rupert, British Columbia before landing at TSN in 2015. In January 2018, the barrier breaking sportscaster became the first black woman to ever host a flagship sports highlight show in Canada.
Of course, Grey isn’t new to the role of “conversation starter”. Over the past year, she has been an advocate for people of colour in media and has taken to Twitter to shed light on a number of important issues. Now she is set to take the conversations to a whole new platform.
THE SHIFT with Kayla Grey premieres May 13th on TSN.
